Quick Start

Welcome to Eidolon! This beginner-friendly guide will walk you from installation to your first conversation, so you can quickly experience the magic of an AI companion.

Step 1: Download & Install

Eidolon is available on Windows Desktop, Android, and Web.

Windows Desktop

1. Visit the Eidolon website or the GitHub Releases page
2. Download the latest .msi installer
3. Double-click the installer and follow the setup wizard
4. After installation, find the Eidolon icon on your desktop and launch it

Android

1. Download the .apk file from the GitHub Releases page
2. Open the downloaded APK on your phone
3. If prompted about "unknown sources", enable installation from unknown sources in your settings
4. After installation, find Eidolon in your app list and open it

Web

Simply visit the Eidolon web address in your browser — no installation needed.

Recommendation

The desktop app offers the most complete experience, including floating window, desktop pet mode, auto-start on boot, and more. We recommend the desktop version when possible.

Step 2: Create an Account

When you first open Eidolon, you'll see the login page.

1. Click the "Register" tab
2. Fill in the following:
   • Username: 3–64 characters, letters, numbers, underscores, or hyphens (e.g. myname_2024)
   • Nickname: The name AI will use to address you (e.g. Alex)
   • Password: At least 8 characters
   • Confirm Password: Re-enter your password
   • Invite Code: Required during the beta period (e.g. ABCD-EFGH-JKLM)
   • Gender: Male or Female
3. Click "Create Account & Enter"

After registration, you'll be automatically logged in and taken to the main interface.

Where to get an invite code?

During the beta, invite codes are distributed by the community admin or content creators. Join the official community to get one.

Step 3: Explore the Home Screen

After logging in, you'll see the "Today" home page — your daily starting point:

Step 4: Start Your First Conversation

1. Click "Enter Chat" on the home page, or tap "Chat" in the navigation bar
2. Type your message in the input box at the bottom
3. Press Enter or click the send button
4. AI will reply, and the character will react with expressions and animations

Try saying things like:

• "Hello! I'm new here, nice to meet you"
• "How's the weather today?"
• "Help me write a self-introduction"
• "Tell me a joke!"

Conversation Tips

Eidolon's AI has long-term memory — it remembers important things you share. The more genuinely you communicate, the better AI understands you.

Step 5: Explore More Features

After your first conversation, try these core features:

• 🎙️ Voice Call: Tap the microphone icon in the chat input to talk with AI via voice
• 📹 Video Call: Tap the camera icon for face-to-face video companionship
• ✅ To-Do Management: Let AI create tasks and habit trackers for you
• 🎭 Theater: Enter immersive interactive stories
• 🎨 Image Generation: Have AI generate images from your descriptions
• 😊 Emoji & Stickers: Search and send fun emoji and stickers

Common Issues

Character model not showing after launch?

The model takes a moment to load. Please wait a few seconds. If it still doesn't appear, check your network connection.

AI not responding?

• Make sure your network connection is working
• Check if your subscription quota has been used up (view in Settings)
• Try refreshing the page or restarting the app

Forgot password?

Currently, please contact the admin to reset your password. Self-service recovery will be available in future versions.
